Mask Requirements on Campus

Effective August 26, 2022

These guidelines will be revisited periodically and revised, depending on public health concerns and warnings. The following is consistent with current recommendations from the CDC as well as live event industry groups.

Indoor/Outdoor Events with Fewer than 40 People

This includes any event in which CCCC community members (students, faculty, staff) are expected to be in attendance and/or any event in which non-CCCC community members (local community, parents, alumni, audience) are expected to be in attendance (marketed to the public). This includes any meeting, lecture, presentation, performance, competition, etc. hosted by CCCC or external groups utilizing a campus venue.

    • When feasible, consider offering a remote viewing option – this is especially important to support attendance by remote-only students and employees.
    • Wearing of masks by presenters and/or attendees is OPTIONAL. Masks should be made available for those who wish to wear them.
    • Wherever possible maintain social distance between individuals. A minimum 12-foot distance is recommended between unmasked presenter/performer and attendees.
    • Food and drink may only be served in accordance with the CCCC COVID SAFETY PLAN.
  • Food items should be individually packaged whenever possible.
  • For food that cannot be individually packaged, food must be served by a designated server; no self-service of “buffet-style” or steam table items.
  • When food is offered, encourage distancing through event set up as much as practical (e.g. distancing between tables, extra available seats, distance between seats, etc.).
  • It is recommended that food be served at the end of the meeting/celebration and provide the option for people to take the food with them to eat elsewhere.
